If anyone might be interested in taking over ownership of Soque Artworks, please let me know! It would be great to keep the gallery running, as many artists who are depending on us will be forced to find representation elsewhere. With such a large, local pool of artistic talent at its disposal, Clarkesville really needs businesses like these!

As it has been recently revealed on our Facebook page, I, Rush Smith, owner of Soque Artworks, have recently decided to close the gallery after 14 years of business. It was enjoyable while it lasted and I have met many friendly faces in my journey, but I am, truthfully, ready to go in a completely different direction. A big thank you to all of our customers and supporters! You will be greatly missed! I will be holding a sale from Friday, May 20 to Saturday, May 21 with some inventory marked down as much as 40%. I hope that many of you will be able to drop by on one of those days, but, for those who are unable to attend, I will still be offering discounts throughout the rest of the month. As the event looms closer, I will post a few more reminders both on here and on Facebook. If you are not already friends on Facebook, be sure to add us!

On Saturday, June 26th from 10am - 2pm, Soque Artworks will be proudly hosting a book launch by local author and illustrator, Samantha Buice. Her new book 'The Tail of a Dragon and His Girl', is the second title to be released by Buice, only months after releasing her first title, 'The Chronicles of Jane'.
As directly quoted from her website:
"This is a story of the connection shared between animal and person, the strong bond that catches hold of us and opens our hearts to another being. It is the journey of a girl seeking shelter under the safety of a dragon’s wings. The adventure also strengthens her relationship with her mental illness, now a constant presence, but no longer a curse."
Excerpts from 'Tail' can be read on her website by going to
Samantha will be introducing her new book to the public for the first time and will be on hand to sign all newly purchased copies that are accompanied by a receipt. All proceeds will go toward future printings. Copies of Samantha's first book will also be available in-store.
We hope you will come out to lend your support on this momentous occasion. Let's keep the arts alive in Habersham!
