As a military dependent, David lived all over the world before he became a resident of Georgia in 1967. David graduated from UGA in 1973 with a BFA in art. He spent the next 30 years teaching art at Clarke Middle School in Athens.

He has enjoyed working in a variety of mediums over the years but spends most of his art time carving fish reflecting his deep respect for natural objects.

All fish are carved from waning wood – a rebirth of sorts.
