Loretta Eby received her BFA in Glass, with minors in Printmaking and Drawing, from the Cleveland Institute of Art, Cleveland, Ohio in 1981. She has continued her education at the Penland School of Crafts, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, and the Pilchuk School of Glass.
Her emphasis since college has been on hot glass, working and managing several studios before opening her own studio in North Georgia in 1985.
She now exhibits her work in juried shows and galleries throughout the country and has received cash awards, purchase awards, and honors of distinction from many judges, museums, and organizations.
Eby's ornaments, garden balls, oil lamps, perfume bottles, paperweights and sculpture have made her a popular component of the Quinlan Visual Arts Center Gift Shop, offering an explosion of bright, luminous color only achieved by the medium of glass.
