Jimmy first discovered his artistic ability several years ago while restoring a small cottage he owned with his wife. He put together a crude garden bench with some lumber that was left over and was soon approached by a local art gallery owner, who wanted it for her shop.
After building several more benches, Jimmy decided to branch out by building other forms of furniture, using one or more bottlecaps as a signature item. Eventually this would earn him his nickname, capman.
More recently, he has pressed forward and put new use to his creativity in the creation of smaller artistic objects, including bird shacks, clocks, and lamps. He has also turned to painting. His most popular subjects are flowers and mountains, which he innovatively adorns with clever inspirational quotes.
All of the materials that Jimmy uses are either found or picked up at his local Habitat Thrift store, so there is minimal environmental impact. His philosophy is simple...try and breath new life into something that was headed to the dump.
