sallyrobbewSally and her family are long-time residents of Atlanta. Her love for art, however, started in her home town of Augusta, Georgia, where her brother is a published artist and was the Medical Illustrator at the Medical College of Georgia. While in her field of teaching, she started taking art classes at night with nationally known artist, Sarah Brown. After leaving the field of teaching, she began to pursue her art more actively. Most of Sally’s work is done with a palette knife. Her work is very diverse, defined, and filled with realism. She uses light, reflections, and color to achieve an end result that will stir the emotions of the viewer. She has a passion for portraits and paints both people and animals on a commission basis. Landscape subjects are centered around places she and her family have visited. Her paintings show her interest in old barns, country homes, and stores in the rural south. Sally’s paintings have been exhibited in art shows and galleries. She was the cover artist in the June, 2009, Georgia Mountain Laurel and the November, 2011, cover of The Laurel Magazine.
