Kim grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, but has lived in various other states, including Kentucky, New York, and Mississippi. Eventually, she found herself in Georgia. Her father was a pastor at Camp Creek Baptist Church in Cornelia, which is where Kim calls home these days.
Kim attended beauty college and became a hair stylist early on in her professional career. She has also managed a salon in surplus of 30 years.
Sometime after moving to Georgia, Kim became disabled and had difficulty in finding work. She decided to turn to a new hobby, jewelry making. In the beginning, she learned beading, which was followed by wire-working. When Kim was later introduced to chain maille, she fell instantly in love.
Kim is married to Clyde Parliament and has two children, Madison and Andrew. When away from family and creating art, she enjoys attending church functions and crocheting.
